Soil gas CO2 emissions from active faults: a case study from the Anninghe—Zemuhe fault, Southeastern Tibetan Plateau, China

چکیده
Introduction: Carbon dioxide emissions from non-volcanic areas are undervalued in the carbon cycle. Methods: First estimates of diffuse CO 2 flux Anninghe—Zemuhe fault (AZF), Southeastern Tibetan Plateau, China, which suggests this could equal 15% all volcanoes China. Following accumulation chamber method, was investigated at 1,483 points, and along 67 profiles crossing AZF. Results discussion: Total AZF were estimated 1.2 Mt yr -1 . The relationship between soil gas fluxes, earthquakes, activity discussed. intense southern part Zemuhe (ZMHF) northern Anninghe (ANH) inferred, have enhanced porosity soil, accelerated water-rock interactions emission within zone. chemical isotopic data indicated that biogenic primary source Produced by groundwaters carbonates, migrate to near surface through cracks. Spatial variations indicate seismic be responsible for jumpy flux. deep faults may contribute considerably greenhouse cycles.

15 صفحه اولmining-impacted soil from southeastern China
Both soil and plant samples of nine different plant species grown in soils from southeastern China contaminated with uranium mine tailings were analyzed for the plant uptake and translocation of U, Ra and Th. Substantial differences were observed in the soileplant transfer factor (TF) among these radionuclides and plant species. Lupine (Lupinus albus) exhibited the highest uptake of U (TF value...
متن کاملPaleoglaciation of Shaluli Shan, southeastern Tibetan Plateau
Reconstructing the paleoglaciation of the Tibetan Plateau is critical to understanding linkages between regional climate changes and global climate changes, and herewe focus on the glacial history of the Shaluli Shan, an area of the southeastern Tibetan Plateau that receives much of its precipitation from monsoon flow. Based on field investigation, geomorphological mapping, and 10Be exposure da...
متن کاملShort-Term Effects of Drying and Rewetting on CO2 and CH4 Emissions from High-Altitude Peatlands on the Tibetan Plateau
This study used mesocosms to examine the effects of alternate drying and rewetting on CO2 and CH4 emissions from high-altitude peatlands on the Tibetan Plateau. The drying and rewetting experiment conducted in this study included three phases: a 10-day predrying phase, a 32-day drying phase, and an 18-day rewetting phase. During the experiment, the water table varied between 0 and 50 cm with re...
